Description:
Parish of Bathwick. The Kennet & Avon Canal with its towpath is on the left with the planned terraces of Pulteney Gardens and Lime Grove to the west. Sydney Buildings curves along the canal to meet Bathwick Hill at George Street with Darlington Buildings to the east joining opposite Dunsford Place. Villas shown along the south side of Bathwick Hill as far as Windsor Terrace opposite Woodland House. The large unnamed house is Elms Lea, now under the houses lining Cleveland Walk showing as only a track. One of a series of large scale city maps created to help with planning water and sewerage at the time of the Bath City Act 1851 and extension of the city boundaries.
