Description: A renowned portly doctor, member of the founding committee to plan and build the Royal Mineral Water Hospital. Native of Aberdeenshire, he came to Bath in 1718 and stayed there for the rest of his life. Van Diest, pinx. Tookey, sculp. Published by W. Bent, London, 1787.
