Description: This photograph was taken next to the end wall of 10, Portland Place and looks across the site of 11, Portland Place and the recently demolished houses in Mount Pleasant. Work has just begun to take down the houses in High Street. As part of extensive and controversial redevelopment, during the period known as the 'Sack of Bath', the buildings in Portland Place adjoining Ballance Street were demolished.
