Description: A section of a long maps, the surveyed routes differ significantly from the actual routes taken, with the Kennet and Avon Canal joining the River Avon at Bathampton. Entitled "Plan of the proposed Navigable Canal between the River Kennet at Newbury, in the County of Berks: and the River Avon at Bath, in the County of Somerset: whereby a navigable Communication will be opened between the Cities of London and Bristol ... to which is added a Plan of the proposed Somersetshire Coal Canal".
Surveyed 1793 by John Rennie, Civil Engineer, published 1794. Engraved by W. Faden, Geogr. to His Majesty & to His R.H. the Prince of Wales.
