Description: Looking from Newark Street, there is virtually nothing left of any of the buildings on these streets. Behind the solitary ruin in Railway Street are the blast damaged houses in Stanley Road, most of which were demolished to make way for Ham Gardens Car Park. To be transformed after the war as the bus station. Oliver's biscuit factory (established 1733) and the corner of Bayntun's in Manvers Street can be seen in the background. A scene of devastation after the Bath Blitz in April 1942.
