Description: This view takes in the slopes to the south of the city that are still largely unspoilt today. The spire on the left belongs to the chapel in the Abbey Cemetery, with the Roman Catholic churchyard (Pope's Walk) nearest to the camera. In the middle of the photograph is St. Thomas à Beckett Church, Widcombe, with Crowe Hall (Widcombe Hill) above. The dovecote at the farm in Church Lane can also be seen to the right of centre. The lone house in the lower right of the photograph is the old toll house on Ralph Allen Drive.
Postcard by George Love Dafnis. See Image Ref. 23407 for the glass plate of this image.
