Description: The brother (?) of Violet Bence, married to the photographer. Served in the 3rd Battalion, London Regiment Royal Fusiliers. Killed in action during WWI 17th February 1917. Buried at Rue de Bacquerot, No. 1 Military cemetery 1.5 miles south of Laventie and 3/4 miles southeast of Estaires.
Dated 18th May 1917.
