Description: The foundation stone was laid (of St. John the Evangelist Church, South Parade) by Rev. Bishop Clifford of Clifton. Mr. Hansom of Clifton is the architect, Messrs' Bladwell and Ambrose are the contractors. It is decorated in the style of Gothic architecture and constructed with Bath Stone. After the ceremony they had luncheon in the school room in Pierrepont Place, attended by Rev. Dr. Clifford and Signor Martini. Lunch was supplied by Mr. Fisher.
