Description: A dreadful conflagration in Prior Park House occurred on 30th May. Some spectators endeavoured to assist the firefighters. The remains were still smoking the following day and most of house was consumed, except bare walls. From a distance it appears untouched. The business of the college will continue as only the residence of Bishop Baines and some professors were damaged. It includes part of the extract from Collinson's History of Somersetshire.
