Description: Rails have been laid on the new girders which form the new bridge deck. The steam crane has then placed the next girder into position, which is still being worked on. The old lattice parapet on the left has still to be replaced with a similar one to that on the right. Judging by where the men are working health and safety was of little concern in those days.
