Description: Declaration, by Egbert Lewis, Free Citizen, or Burgess, of the City, to obey the Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of the City and to perform all duties lawfully and to the utility and profit of the City. Dated 6th November 1879. By this date, only those who were Burgesses were entitled to vote in Parliamentary Elections. Egbert Lewis was a printer, publisher and engraver. He was later the publisher of the Bath Herald. Signed by John Stone, Town Clerk.
