Description: The Beaufort Hotel became the Hilton Hotel in April 1988 and has gained notoriety as a symbol of the 'Sack of Bath' and the unsympathetic clearance and developments of the late 1960s early 1970s. In 1989 the ventilation shaft was demolished.
