Description: Die-cut paper lace and embossed flowers surround a panel on which is pasted a printed image of a book, on the cover of which is a church and the words 'hope' and 'love.' Book opens to reveal a handwritten poem in gold: 'Hymen haply leads the way, love,/Blithely sweet and blithely gay love,/In the distance, fond and true,/See the Church is full in view,/Happy hours will then be mine, love,/Happy hours will then be thine, love,/When in truth and love combined,/Heart and hand and faith is joined./Oh! 'tis rich and rare, possessing/Mutual love indeed's a blessing./Loving with a fervent heart, love,/Ne'er to sever, ne'er to part, love,/Sing, sweet birds, sing blithe and gaily,/We will love on, night and daily,Hymen's pure and brightening fire, Ne'er will from our hearts expire. Mrs S.' (interior not scanned)
