Three ladies in the ferry, also known as the Old Royal Ferry, with the ferryman operating the chain mechanism. The northern landing point of the ferry was next to where Fielding's Bridge was built and this house was at the end of Old Ferry Road. It was the last operational ferry in Bath and closed in April 1906. Note the life-saving ring on the wall from the Bath Humane Society.
