Gorgeous Georgian Sets
Each of these 2 lovely sets of colour prints has a different focus. The set of four circular images, published in 1794, are all about the beauty and symmetry of the Georgian Bath architecture and they focus in tight on iconic locations such as The Circus and Queen Square. Whereas the set of 'Eight Views of the most Elegant Scenes of and in Bath’, put the buildings in the context of the surrounding countryside and include people, cows, sheep and horses. The set of 8 prints were originally sold uncoloured, but this 1773 version had a beautiful watercolour wash.
