The design of this elegant shopper comes from an image often quoted as being the earliest Map of Bath. It is from William Smith's description of England, with arms of the nobility produced in 1588. The Map image includes a key containing the King's Bath, the Cross Bath, the Common Bath, the Abbey, the Mill Bath, and the Market Place from the sixteenth century.
