Coard Collection

This collection is part of the Bath Preservation Trust’s archive of records relating to the Sack of Bath. Peter and Ruth Coard founded the Bath Buildings Record in 1963 to create a record of buildings being demolished or about to be demolished as part of the large-scale regeneration of Bath in the later 1960s known as the Sack of Bath. Peter Coard recorded buildings, sometimes including floor plans, by sketching on individual record cards in black biro, creating some of the most atmospheric images of a Bath that no longer exists.
