Description: Photographed from the site of the recently demolished Henry Place, showing the end wall of Moorfield Place on the left-hand side of Middle Lane and the ends of St. George's Place, Peto's Buildings and Plato's Buildings on the right-hand side.
Nicknamed 'mud island' due to its vulnerability from flooding, Dolemeads housed some of the poorest inhabitants in Bath. The pair of cottages on the left are part of a set of Bath's first council houses, opened in 1901.
Photographed by H. Foster, 5, Princes Buildings, Bath. See Image Ref. 14538.
