Description: As it appeared during the Conflagration on Monday Evening 30th May 1836. View from the gardens to the north with a crowd gathering below the mansion, the west portion of which is ablaze. Figures can be seen climbing down a stepladder against the east wall. It was repaired using fittings from the remains of Hunstrete House near Marksbury. The mansion would again catch fire in 1991. As quoted from the Bath Journal, 4th July 1836 'Just published. Decidedly the best view of the Conflagrations at Prior Park on Monday evening 30th May 1836'.
