Description: Originally built in timber by Brunel to save money, this bridge was replaced with an iron version in about 1878 following the collapse of the nearby Widcombe Foot Bridge which had also been built of timber. The backs of the houses on Claverton Street on the left end at the river towpath where canal barges are tied up. The Station platform continues to the bridge, where a train crosses.
