Description: To the Inhabitants of the City of Bath interested in the wellbeing of the poor. Appears on an appeal for funds, dated October 1855 by the Vestry of St. Matthew's Church. The appeal states that the parish contains approximately 5,000 people of whom 3,000 are poor. School built c.1855 and it resided practically underneath the arches of Brunel's great viaduct that crossed Dolemeads. See Image Ref. 14108.
