Description: The school was for many years Culverhay Upper School and is now the Bath Community Academy. Seen here in April 1969 complete with its outdoor swimming pool! Also visible in this view are Barrow Castle (lower right) and the fairly new Kingsway estate (Ambleside Road, Edgeworth Road etc.). Note that Canons Close is not yet built. To the left of the school site is the Rosaries with its garden and orchard. The Rosaries now form part of the school site, with science, maths and sixth form blocks built over the site. In the middle at the top are the glasshouses of Southdown nurseries, with those of Blackmore & Langdon further away in the extreme upper left. Also visible in the upper portion is Sladebrook Farm on Englishcombe Lane where Sladebrook Court (flats) now stands.
