Description: The Bath Chronicle on 28th March 1839, stated that the site at present proposed is Charlotte Street, Queen Square. This building was never constructed and the Bath Mechanics' Institution moved to the Bath Athenæum, Orange Grove instead. In the same year, the New Savings Bank was built on the proposed Charlotte Street site.
