Description: Winter 1970-1971. A view from Kelston Road over the Newbridge area. In the middle distance, construction of the Newbridge caravan site is underway. A double-decker bus (left) can be seen at or near the Newbridge terminus loop. On the skyline in the centre are the trees at Whiteway. The green (untouched) field in the centre of the photograph is now the Newbridge Park and Ride, constructed in the 1980s. The marina is out of shot to the right. Just visible in the upper right of the photograph is the old Midland Railway bridge over the River Avon, which now carries the Bristol to Bath cycle path. Factory units in Brassmill Lane Trading Estate are visible to the upper left. The dark mass of trees is Carrs Wood in Twerton.
