Description: Looking southwest. 7 & 8, New King Street were completely destroyed and Nos. 6 and 9 on either side were later pulled down. A small group looks on at the houses that took a direct hit and was completely destroyed. One of a stick of bombs that fell in Kingsmead early in the first raid. The Ford family, mother and 6 children, died here. The day after the Bath Blitz, April 1942. The houses were eventually rebuilt, but did not replicate those that were destroyed.
