Description: This is looking southwest from the bottom of Harley Street with rescue workers walking along Julian Road. Behind them are the ruins of an ironmongers shop at 9 & 10, Burlington Place. On the right are the remains of St. Andrew's Church Hall (previosly the Portland Chapel) and a wall belonging to Abingdon Buildings. Completely gutted by incendiary bombs, the church was later demolished, with the tower surviving until c.1958. The site is now a triangle of grass.
Photographed in April 1942.
