Description: The northern side of the street the morning after the Bath Blitz in April 1942. To the right of the church and still standing is the western part of Cumberland House, which partially collapsed at a later date (see Image Ref. 18802). Firemen are hosing down the remains of the eastern part of Cumberland House. This was previously 1, Cumberland Row, but was eventually incorporated into Cumberland House. To the right of Cumberland Row is the doorway of 54, New King Street, which was also badly damaged and subsequently demolished. Note the bomb crater in the road outside.
