Description: Looking southwest from the junction with Cumberland Street on the Sunday morning, the day after the attack. A huge bomb crater in the middle of the road indicates the point of impact. Buildings nearby are still burning. 7 & 8, New King Street were completely destroyed and Nos. 6 and 9 on either side were later pulled down. The Home Guard with their rifles stand in the foreground.
