Description: Before the Sports Centre was built. Marked as the 'Green Girdle' and viewed from the Empire Hotel. This photograph was published in the Bath Weekly Chronicle on 16th July 1938 to illustrate the impact of a proposed development in the fields between Bathwick Hill and Sydney Buildings. You can just see four large white signs placed in the field to mark the location of the proposed development. Copied from the photographer's original glass negative.
