Description: The Emperor stayed here in August 1936 on his arrival in Bath. The other figure in the picture is no doubt the hotel manager V. Auguste Keyser. Exiled to Fairfield House, Newbridge, Bath between 1936 and 1940, the Emperor of Ethiopia returned in October 1954 for a State Visit and received the Freedom of the City.
