Description: With the Stothert & Pitt canteen in the background, now the site of Sainsbury's petrol station. The last great flood of Bath came in July 1968, after a long period of drought; a phenomenal downpour overwhelmed the evolving flood defences before they were fully operational. They have proved effective in protecting Bath since then.
Photographed in July 1968.
