Description: James Street West, Kingsmead, outside what is now Bath Carpet Warehouse. The last great flood of Bath came in July 1968, after a long period of drought; a phenomenal downpour overwhelmed the evolving flood defences before they were fully operational. They have proved effective in protecting Bath since then.
