Description: A still life of fruit on a plate, an unusual subject for this artist.
Painted by John Charles Maggs (1819-1896), oil on board (aka James Charles Maggs). Famous for his paintings of coaching inns such as the White Hart (see image 10822), his father was also an artist from Bath.
