Description: This military unit (probably Infantry and Cyclist Corps) are setting up camp on the cliffs above Swanage near Ballard Down. The Cyclist Corps were set up in 1908 and mainly saw service defending Britain's South Coast or behind active lines in France in World War One (bicycles were ineffective in front line action) before being disbanded in 1919. This field is now the site of Ballard Private Estate on the northern edge of Swanage.
