Description: Mr. William Pinch decided to deepen his well for his brewery to a depth of 170 feet and managed to tap into Bath's hot springs, overwhelming his premises with hot spa water! This set into events an epic tale, as the Baths all began to take longer to refill each day, until the well was capped by Mr. Henry Stothert and Mr. Rayne engineers, Henry Stone well sinker and Mr. Aust, stone mason. From "An Account of Tapping and Closing the Spring of Hot Water, at Mr. Pinch's Brewery, Bath" by William Armstrong, 1838.
