Description: Autumn 1967. Buffer stop view of the former Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway northern terminus. As early as October 1966 tracks were removed from the station but only as far as the shed entrance for the goods yard was to remain in use until 1972. The bonded warehouse on the right-hand platform retains its British Railways signboard and both bridges over the River Avon are in situ, but one was to be removed shortly afterwards. From a private collection of slides of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, taken in the year following closure of the line in 1966.
