Description: The strange white contraption looks like part kite, part aeroplane. Taken a year before the first recorded flight by Wilbur and Orville Wright in December 1903. Patrick Alexander of Batheaston was one of Bath's pioneering aviators. Also pictured is C.S. Rolls (later killed in a flying accident at Bournemouth) and Samuel F. Cody, seen with the distinctive hat sitting to the right.
