Description: This wonderful forgotten building survived until the early 1970s, until the land was cleared to provide room for the plant machinery and yard to construct the new Pulteney Weir. It was thought to be the main building for the old Georgian Pleasure Gardens which was run by the Purdy family in the latter part of the 18th century. In effect it was the equivalent to the Holburne Museum in Sydney Gardens. See Image Ref. 33705.
