Description: Marshall's library was one of the many subscription libraries in Bath. Its register from January 1794 reads like a who's who of the time. At the top of Milsom Street, the subscribers paid 1 guinea per year, 14 shillings per half year and 7 shillings sixpence per quarter. On that basis it is possible to calculate the duration of their stay in Bath. Duchess of Devonshire, Capt. Boucheir, Revd. Mr. Lawson, Mr. B. Bunbury etc.
