Description: Marshall's library was one of the many subscription libraries in Bath. Its register from January 1794 reads like a who's who of the time. Thought to be at the top of Milsom Street, the subscribers paid 1 guinea per year, 14 shillings per half year and 7 shillings sixpence per quarter. On that basis it is possible to calculate the duration of their stay in Bath. Sir John Riggs Miller, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cumberland and a Mr. Bean!
