Description: Marshall's library was one of the many subscription libraries in Bath. Its register from April 1796 reads like a who's who of the time. At the top of Milsom Street, the subscribers paid 1 guinea per year, 14 shillings per half year and 7 shillings sixpence per quarter. On that basis it is possible to calculate the duration of their stay in Bath. Mr. Daniel Crawford, Marquis of Bath, Mr. Forest, etc.
