Description: He was executed on 28th August 1780 near the Romish Chapel, Bath for encouraging, aiding and abetting several persons for unlawful assembly and destroying the Roman Catholic Chapel. The trial lasted for six hours and seven other rioters were discharged. Other persons tried at the Assizes in Wells are also listed. The Catholic Chapel is now known as the Hope Chapel in St. James's Park.
