Description: Class 5 No. 44906 pilots train engine West Country class No. 34105 on a north of England train to Bournemouth. This train has just collected the tablet.
From a collection of photographs of the Somerset & Dorset, L.M.S. and G.W.R railways by Chris Hobbs (1945-2011). Chris Hobbs lived in Newbridge and was a fireman for the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway before becoming a postman for many years for the villages surrounding Bath. Photographed on 8th August 1959.
