Description: He died at 64 on 26th February 1607. From an Original Painting (dated 1607) in the Library of Trinity College Cambridge. He was Author of Gammer Gurton's Needle, a Comedy acted at Christ's College, Cambridge in 1566, but first published 1575. See the Biographia Dramatica.
Engraved by W. Say from an extremely rare mezzotint of the same size in the possession of The Wilson Esqr. Published according to Act of Parliament, 17th January 1820 by W. Smith, 24, Lisle Street, Leicester Square. Of this mezzotinto only 25 proofs were taken before the Plate was reduced. Signed by W. Smith.
