Description: By a letter from Bath we learn that the affair between a certain gentleman and Miss Linley, which gave write to the celebrated comedy of the Maid of Bath is compromised. The gentleman has given her £3000, besides the clothes and jewels he had purchased for her and also paid all the debts she had contracted in consequence of the intended marriage. Sheridan was well known for multiple affairs and even stalking of women.
