Description: Philip Bury Duncan was Keeper of the Ashmolean Museum 1826-1855. He was the brother of John Shute Duncan and died at his residence, Westfield Lodge at 92, 'long protracted life was a beacon of light which is visible over a wide extent of country to a multitude of gazers'.
