Description: The ground and first floor plans, with a picture to scale of house and plan of grounds, to accompany sales particulars. Also known as Oakwood, it was built before 1814, when it was bought by the painter Benjamin Barker, who created the garden visited by Queen Charlotte in 1817. Later alterations were carried out by architect Edward Davis in 1833 for Thomas Emmerson, who renamed it Smallcombe Grove (it reverted to Oakwood in 1856).
