Description: The Mayor feels that removing the railings would be dangerous to pedestrians on the bridge, but he is contemplating removing the 'ruinous heap' next to the Full Moon (which is also to be rebuilt shortly) to form the corner house of a new street from the Old Bridge to the open ground at the bottom of Philip Street. The Editor also hopes it will not be long before a new, spacious, bridge might be erected to replace the old one. See Image Ref. 41617 for letter to which this refers.
Newspaper cutting, 5th March 1822.
