Description: As the Tragic Muse. Reynolds painted Sarah Siddons many times through her career as an actress, including at the Theatres Royal in Bath and Bristol, before taking London by storm at the second attempt. Born into the Kemble acting dynasty, her husband, William Siddons, is almost totally unheard of.
