Description: Probably James Prescott Warde (1792-1840), who was born as James Prescott and trained as an army officer at Woolwich, but left the army in poor health by 1812. He first performed in Bath in 1813, then moved on to London by 1818. He remained a secondary actor, never gaining the riches and fame of some actors and died in penury.
